As we all know the war for the console thrown will be more bloody than ever as 4 top companys wage war with no limits and an unemding fight to the death, of the other consoles that is. In Japan and possibly the UK, the problem will not be as bad for 2 or 3 consoles will only be on the market.
Within a year Sony Computer Entertainment will release there highly antisipated Playstation2 that will in theory dwarf the Dreamcast success, but by most is highly doubted. The Playstation 2 has 2 real advantages over Dreamcast that lie within Sonys previous success. Every one who onwns a PSX have been constantly in touch with Sonys dominating market and obey there every move, causing there to be an enormous amount of followers to there latest console. The other bennifit is the fact that the PS2 is graphically more powerfull than Dreamcast (keep in mind Dreamcast is about 2 years old). The problems though are the fact that the Playstation2 has suffered from bad hardware manufacturing causing Sony to recall large amounts of PS2's countless times. Another problem is that the Playstation2 is considered the hardest console to have ever had to program for (even worse than Saturn) causing glichey games with rough crapy looking models caused by bad anti aliasing, which makes many Dreamcast games look FAR superior. With Dreamcast's stable foothold in the US market, the PS2 and Dreamcast will be neck to neck probobally untill the 1st or 2nd quarter in 2001, when 2 new consoles will enter the market.
Video game vetran and well known company Nintendo is to release its newest console named Dolphin. This console is to offer fantastic graphics that are unmatched, but by screenshots that have graced magazines they are quite contrary. Since very little is known about there console the future fo it is questionable but not very bright, as well as Microsofts latest attempt to dominate yet another area of the technological world.
Software Nazi Microsoft and there rich leader Bill Gates have announced the release of there first contribution to the console market with the technological wonder the X-Box. With startiling screenshots and Bill Gates' swear that the X-Box can dish more than twice what consoles can now, its sure to catch gamers ears. But with its Direct x, Windows 2000, and PC based design, will it be as much crap as were used to from Microsoft, or have they changed. Could it be that this company has changed from greedy money making, backstabbing, power thirsty basterds to kind hearted civil people determined to make a good quality console, NO WAY IN HELL. Do we realy want a console that crashes on a regular basis, not me no matter how powerfull it is.
Many market analists belive that the Dreamcast and Playstation2 will be a rather similar market in a canstatnt battle untill the release of X-Box and Dolphin. From there a similar situation as found in the 80's in which nobody undersatnds the consoles, and is unsure of what to buy causing low sales and a unsatisfying market.
From there is question. Whatever happens to Dreamcast (does he mean already lost like the Saturn? - Ed), Sega will afterwards turn to software only as origionally anounced (No not true - Ed), Sony with there multi national hardware development expertise will survive without a scratch and go on to create more electronic devices (like they've done for the past 50 years or so - Ed) Microsoft will go on screwing up the PC market, and Nintendos slowly dying Pokemon craze and Gameboy fancise will keep them alive untill there next console. (So will Nintendo win? I guess. -Ed)
The battle will be bloody, but it will be one hell of a fight!! (Really consoles have blood? - Ed)
