![]() The basic premise of the original Gauntlet was 'find key, open door' whilst killing any hobgoblins on the way. Obviously, since 1985, games have become a little more sophisticated so Midway have added the to the element of finding a key and opening doors the challenge of now having to also fing a runestone, sometimes hidden in the level which you must then use to advance to the next section. Unlike the Atari classic which was set in barren, top-down dungeons the introduction of the third dimension has allowed Midway to vary the landscapes in which the game is set, ranging from mountains to caves. Also new to the game is experience points, charcters gain EXP as they progress through the game so that the characters can evolve to gain new abilites. Like the original, Gauntlet Legends also promises many hours of multi-player mayhem, supporting up to four players at one time. Don't for one minute confuse this game with the like of Soul Reaver and Tomb Raider, while there is elements of RPG strategy, Gaunlet has always been about one thing, to blast the hell out of a whole host of ghouls and goblins. Put your pointy hats on and jump on the magic carpet for a wicked ride into the realms of fantasy, coming at ya' this summer. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Preview By: Matt Wood Go Back |
