Whenever I play this game I can’t help but think Shenmue. Not because SotB is bad, quite the contrary, but because at so many points it reminds me of to what I believe Shenmue to be. No don’t think I’m weird but SotB is one big action/adventure movie that you WATCH and whenever it calls for major ass kicking action you control Guts. But in many points you are asked to press a certain button, as seen in Shenmue or else you are lead in a different path, or die even. See its the whole cinematics, and random button pushing that reminds me of Shenmue. Other then that SotB is quite a different game, and extremely fun at that.
Genre:Action/Cinematic
Developer:ASC2
Publisher: Eidos
Available:NOW
Format:1 GD-Rom
Players:1

You are put in the roll of Guts, a warrior with a massive sword of unbelievable proportions and other projectile weapons like arrows and bombs. You also have a meter that measures your "fury" or whatever its called, and when it fills up you go into a berserk rage, where you move faster stronger, and don’t get hurt.

When purchasing or renting this game be cautious to the fact that you are almost like watching a movie. Unlike other games this is more like a big movie with interactive areas, and not a game with movies here and there. But rest assured the story and graphics portrayed in this movie are done quite well.

The Graphics are quite good, as with most games it has its dull scenes but also has breathtaking views of imaginative worlds. I have experienced no slow down during battles, and the lighting effects are quite good. Overall SotB has above Average graphics.

The sound is also above average. The music sets the moods quite well. The other effects from the subtle foot to ground sounds to the stomach turning gush sounds of the Sword to face, are done so well they seem real.

screen

The only problem with SotB is that you do grow tired of this game after a few days. No doubt will you come back to it but the mindless blood bashing and sometimes impossible battles grows old to fast. But while it lasts its a blast.

screen

Overall SotB is a great game with its limits but far more benefits. I recommend this as a rental to everyone to see if its your game, and just to se these graphics in action.

Graphics: 92 Average look with no slow down and some Beautifull scenes.
Sound: 95Awesome sound, good voice acting, decent music.
Control: 70Movment is ok, but atacking in close quarters gets frustrating.
Replay: 50 This is a one time show with no intrest for another go.
Overall: 69 A nice rental game but you get tired quick and no replay.
