You’re Elliot Ballad ESER member who accidentally falls upon Dinosaur Island. Things go from normal to damn scary as you’re left to solve what happened on the Island. I’ve been following the game since it was announced early ’99 and I expected much out of it. I was a bit let down but still found the game fun and entraining.

The graphics were nice. The levels and lighting effects were wonderful. No cause for complaint. The Napalm Gun causes some good fire effects as well as that Nephalim thing (play the game to find out who that is) and most other weapons in the game. THe characters though were very big and blocky. Come on.

The music fit most of the game and the sections you were in. Like when you go to Lab Town there’s Christmas music playing since its Christmas Eve. The sound effects is where this title seemed to suffer as they were plain and just didn’t sound so good.

The replay value was nice as you are able to beat the game and get special cheats. There are also plenty of side quests and secrets that will keep you hooked if you even get hooked. Most people I know stop before anything really happens. I strongly recommend a strategy guide or the FAQ because it doesn’t tell you where or how to find most of the items you are going to need.

Overall, Blue Stinger was a nice and enjoyable game. I really would hope though that they would fix some of the more buggy problems (Ex: Camera), bump the graphics up just a tad bit more and give you more info. This would make the game even more enjoyable. Also rumor has it that a sequel is in the works. If it is lets hope to see some improvements.

Graphics: 86 The levels and lighting effects were wonderful. The characters were to blocky though.
Sound: 75Voice acting totally first generation. Gun sounds were all wonderful either.
Control: 71This takes a while to get used to, and some camera problems don’t make things easier.
Replay: 76 If you ever beat the game it becomes easier with all guns and infinite ammo.
Overall: 78 Nice spooky game. If you can’t wait for Carrier or RE: CV this is a good teaser.
