The sequel to a very mediocre game gets worse. Core is good at giving us lots of crap with a little new stuff inbetween. The Tomb Raider series is a shining examaple. So whats the game about. You are Hawk (from the orignal) and are out to.... we'll you got me there. I sould pay more attetion to the opening CG (it got boring). Oh well heres my review.
The graphics were good, but not all that great. I've seen better from Donkey Kong 64. The main problems are the colors are not varied and are to much the same throughout the whole game. The other problem was the blockyness of the characters. Way to blocky for my taste.
Control was a pain in the ass, really. It is nearly impossible to make a turn to attack an enemy behind you. I later figured out that the Up and down buttons do this easily but the layout with the analog above makes thing diffilcult. Shooting and switching weapons can also be a pain. As you have to press Y in order to switch weapons which can be very hard in the heat of battle. This area of the game needs lots of improvement.
The sound was nice. Nothing to complain about. Gun sounds were excuted nice. Music was lacking as seems to be a trend in Dreamcast games. Don't ask me why, but common music is nice (most of the time).
The replay value sucks. Once its beat theres nothing more to do. Things like a deathmatch mode, some hidden levels and a mini game or something would have given FF2 a better chance as well as a grade.
Overall the game is fun to play, for a while at least. But as with most games of this type it gets to be the same way to often. Bad, really bad, bad controls, mediocre graphics and dumb AI, all took away from the experience. The game is near point less to buy as you'll tire very quick or if you manage to beat the game theres nothing else to do.
Graphics: 72
I've seen better. For the lack of words they were bland.
Sound: 52
Gun sounds were great but everything else bit the choke. What happend to the background music??
Control: 36
These things sucked ass. Hard to learn and hard to use in the heat of battle.
Replay: 30
You can always try to beat the game again(we don't recommend this).
Overall : 48
We wanted more. What a shame. The game was plauged with just about bad every thing!
