Psychic Force 2012 is the newest addition to the Dreamcasts fighter genre, that can best be discribed as a cult game. In PF 2012, as in other fighters you are pinned against an opponentin a timed match in witch you must defeats the enemy 2 or so times. But instead of the classic arena, you are floating in a box witch apparently is a product of some "Psychic Force".This can cause for either longer and annoying battles or a more chalenging unique battle.
Genre: Fighter
Developer: Tiato
Publisher: Acclaim
Available:11.12.99
Format: 1 GD-Rom
Players: 1-2

You can select from a total of 10 characters, and battle on 8 beautifuly rendered backgrounds (stages) in a variety of modes.Arcade, Story, Training, and a VS mode against either a human or computer. This game has many customizable options, allowing for a more easy to use setup. You can change the position of the health meters ( if your tv has a limited veiw ), change the size of the ring ( there are 3 sizes ), etc. This game contains marvelous graphics that are better then some of the games already out on the Dreamcast, and will plese the eye with some of the energy effects (if you like anime, that is) and contains a better then average soundtrack.

Screen

The Gameplay is where this package falls short. The interface is plagued with complications, not to mention the d-pad ONLY support (and this is one of the games i wanted the analog for) or the fact that when you get nocked into the wall your paralized for a while (say goodbye cause youve already lost)! But dont get me wrong, this setup was also used for cool special effects (attacks) and awesome cinematics.

This game is very hard to judge for the fact that you either HATE it or you LIKE it, there are no middle men. I loved this game, many I know love this game, Yet many I know hate this game. The only real way you will be able to tell if you like this game is if you play it.

Graphics: 89 The character animation, backgrounds, and textures were all beautifully rendered. No cause for Complaints.
Sound: 90 The Music was great, and the sound effects were averege, and the fact that they did subtitles with japanese voice acting probobaly saved them from Sonic Adventure style Cheesyness.
Control: 69 Controls were hard to master. And use of the Analog stick would have been nice.
Replay: 67 With not alot of modes and options, you can get sick of this game real quick.
Overall : 77 This game is only ment for some, some will love it, some will hate it. If you're a fan to the genre give it a rental at least.
