When the PC version hit our desk we popped it in and enjoyed. We loved the game quite a bit. The only problem with it was the difficulty. Then the Dreamcast version landed. We thought of its coolness and improvements and popped it in. We found quite an opposite. See why and read below... Zed Two

Well first a third person shoot-em up makes its way to Dreamcast! Other than exependable its the only one out there of its kind. But not a whole lot actually. The game could have been more but to much was cut in a rush to have it released by Christmas. Music, Multiplayer Support and graphics to name a few.

First off the graphics. To me there sorta pre-Dreamcast. Why? The backgrounds suck! There are a polygonal mess of all sorts. Walk up to a building a see for you self. You only see such things on a Playstation. On the other hand the mechs were beautiful. They were smooth and nice looking and no polys what so ever. Actually it wouldn't surprise me if there were more polys on the mechs than the Buildings.

There was absolutely no music! And the sounds were lame. Ocassionaly you wouldn't here yourself walk or shoot! Now thats crap. We loved the sound effects in the PC version but the sound present on the Dreamcast version were just mediocre!

Controls were inovative and some thing fresh. You use the analog pad to aim and the abxy buttons to move. The triggers fire while the d-pad jumps. It takes a while to get used to but after the first but after the first level are a snap. This is about the only fresh and inovative thing to come out of Slave Zero.

The gameplay also on the non forgiving end of it all. There are some major flaws. First off on about the 3rd or 4th stage the enemies are non forgiving and extremely lethal. What does that mean? Well it gets to damn hard. Better pull out that cheat book! Next when in the heat of battle things seem to slow down from the abnormal 30 frames per second to stuff in the single digits that were never meant for Dreamcast. We have all experince that problem while playing Half Life or some other online games and it sucks!

One thing they did get right though was Multiplayer mode. 4-Player support is a plus but no online or modem play is around (mostly due to SEGA). But the support it does have is good for the time being and nice for fragging some friends.

With way to much missing from the PC Version this made me cry! All the details we left out and it put the power of our beloved DC's down......

Graphics: 65 Mechs were wonderful. Everything else sucked....
Sound: 45 Skips in shotting, No music, lame FX.
Control: 87 Inovative. Very nice the true + in this game
Replay: 40 Horable! It gets very boring and very hard.
Overall : 71 Buy the PC version if you really want the best.
